Bumper crowd expected at last weekend of caravan show

More than 6,000 people attended the first three days of a major caravan and motorhome spring show in Shrewsbury and a bumper crowd is expected this weekend.

Visitors from all over the country flocked to the West Midlands Caravan and Motorhome Show, which is being hosted by Salop Leisure until Sunday, May 8. The event is open daily 10am - 5pm.

Salop Leisure’s marketing manager Scott Higgins said the company was delighted with the attendance over the Bank Holiday weekend, with sales of touring caravans, motorhomes and caravan holiday homes running ahead of last year’s event.

“We have attracted a fantastic number of first time buyers, who account for around 40 per cent of the sales to date,” he added. “It’s a great show for gathering information and advice about taking the first steps towards caravan and motorhome ownership.”

The show has also witnessed the launch of two new two-bedroomed caravan holiday homes by Willerby which have been designed exclusively for Salop Leisure. The Willerby Shrewsbury costs £26,695 and the Willerby Severn costs £21,808.

“Both these models provide exceptional value for money and we have received very positive feedback from visitors,” explained Mr Higgins. “People looking to buy a second hand caravan holiday home can now own a brand new model with a five year guarantee for the same money.”

Other new models unveiled at the show include the Willerby Meridian lodge and ABI Windermere holiday home.

Designed as a family day out, the show is packed with things to see and do, with hundreds of the latest caravan holiday homes, luxury lodges, touring caravans and motorhomes on display from the country’s leading manufacturers.

Tickets for the event are free and can either be downloaded at www.caravanevent.co.uk or ordered by calling Tel: 0844 247 1782.

The show also promotes more than 200 caravan holiday home and touring parks across the Heart of England, inland Mid Wales and the Cambrian Coast, which can also be viewed online at www.salopleisure.co.uk.
