Chance for people at the Grove to influence new activities

Local people are being asked to make their views known on the future of St James Hall Church at the Grove in Bridgnorth.

Chance for people at the Grove to influence new activities

St Mary’s PCC own and manage the building, which is both a place of worship and a well used community facility. But the management committee, led by Reverend Simon Cawdell want to see the hall play an even greater part in community life for people in Low Town and particularly those living on the Grove estate.

Over the next few weeks residents will be asked to complete surveys and also to get more involved in the future running of the hall. There will be an Open Day on Saturday 14th May, from 10am til 1pm and everyone is welcome to call in for a chat and a cuppa.

Rev Cawdell said, “We want the hall to be open to everyone, regardless of whether or not they are part of our regular church congregation. We are applying for funding from Shropshire Council’s Market Towns programme so that we can make improvements to the building. It’s important that we clearly understand what local people want to see happen there, and what activities they would like to take part in. We are hopeful that local partners, such as the council, will also see the opportunities that the hall could offer as a location they could deliver local services from. We are having lots of discussions and we want to hear from local people.”

At the Open Day on 14th people will be able to see some initial plans and ideas for new activities as well as meeting representatives of groups that already use the hall.
Everyone is welcome.
