Man Assaulted In Trench
Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in the Trench area of Telford.
The incident occurred in Trench Road, outside the Duke of York pub, following an argument between two men at around 11pm on Saturday.
As a result of the altercation, one of the men – aged 21 –suffered a gash to his head.
He was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital for treatment.
The suspect left the scene.
Police are investigating the matter and are appealing to anyone with information about the matter to come forward.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “The victim was drinking at the pub with friends when he became involved in an argument with another individual.
“The argument spilled out onto the car park and it was there where he was assaulted and suffered an injury to his head.
“He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injury.
“Police are investigating the incident and we are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. The pub was very busy at the time and we are eager to speak to anyone who saw what happened in the run up to the assault or the assault itself. We are also eager for information relating to the identity of the suspect.”
