Firefighters remain at Mullins Heating in Shrewsbury
Firefighters spent last night at Mullins Heating on Shrewsbury’s Wenlock Road following a severe fire at the family run business earlier in the day.

A fire broke out in the roof space of the property at 1.45pm yesterday afternoon. Workers inside the workshop of the building were alerted to the fire by a local resident who saw smoke rising from the roof and raised the alarm.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue attended the blaze with units from Shrewsbury, Wellington, Baschurch, Tweedale and Telford Central. The aerial ladder platform was used to tackle the roof space fire. Over 60 firefighters were in attendance.
At the height of the fire smoke could be seen rising into the air some miles away.
The roof and interior of the building which backs onto London Road was severely damaged during the fire.
The White Horse public house and nearby properties were evacuated due to safety concerns over gas cylinders within building that had heated up.
An area around the fire remains cordoned off this morning with Wenlock Road and London Road remaining closed.
Traffic in the area was brought to a standstill during the height of the rush hour due to the road closures and extra traffic for the Shrewsbury Town football match at the Greenhous Meadow on Oteley Road.
A traffic diversion is in place using Haycock Way, the inner bypass to Meole Brace island, along Oteley Road to Emstrey island.
