A Shropshire heating company which saw its premises in Shrewsbury severely damaged by a fire on Friday is today trading again after staff worked over the weekend to relocate to temporary offices.

Mullins heating resumes trading following fire

The fire broke out in the roof space of the family run business on Wenlock Road on Friday. Workers inside the building were alerted to the fire by a local resident who saw smoke rising from the roof.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue attended the blaze with units from Shrewsbury, Wellington, Baschurch, Tweedale and Telford Central including the aerial ladder at the scene. The area around the building was cordoned off for over 24hs following the fire over fears that gas cylinders could explode from the heat.

Richard Mullins and staff today thanked firefighters involved in helping tackle the blaze.

Richard said: “We have been working hard over the weekend to set up temporary offices in order to resume trading as normal. All of our records and customer database are intact so we can continue to offer a high quality service to both our existing and prospective customers.”

The company which specialise in central heating, fireplaces and stoves also thanked well wishers for their support following the fire. Their website can be visited at http://www.mullinsheating.com.
