Two people have been arrested after police discovered a cannabis cultivation unit at a home in Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury Drugs Warrant in Sundorne Leads To Two Arrests

The discovery was made yesterday afternoon when officers carried out a search warrant at a home in Claverley Crescent, Sundorne.

They found a growing environment in the loft of the home and arrested a man and a woman at the premises.

Twelve mature cannabis plants and a number of smaller plants and seedlings in trays were seized together with various items of equipment used in the growing process.

A man in his forties and a woman in her thirties were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, a Class B controlled drug.

They were taken into custody at Shrewsbury police station for questioning and later bailed pending further inquiries.

Ten officers were involved in carrying out the search warrant granted by magistrates under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: “The warrant is the latest to be conducted in Shrewsbury as part of our ongoing campaign to target people suspected of being involved with illegal drugs.

“We would appeal to people to report suspected drug activity to assist the police in this campaign by calling 0300-333-3000.”
