Shrewsbury road partially closed following collapse of footway
A Shrewsbury road is today partially closed following a collapse of the footway and carriageway.
Hazeldine Way is closed eastbound, between Meole Brace roundabout and Pritchard Way at the pedestrian crossing point at the exit from Meole Brace roundabout.
A suspected main drainage burst has caused the partial collapse leaving a large void beneath the carriageway surface.
Shropshire Council says investigatory work will commence today, followed by repair as soon as possible.
Through traffic is currently diverted from Meole Brace roundabout, eastbound along Oteley road and Thieves Lane to Emstrey Island, via London Road to the column roundabout, and Haycock Way to Pritchard Way.
Access westbound along Hazledine Way towards Meole Brace roundabout from Pritchard Way remains unaffected.
