The Supporters of Music at Abraham Darby Academy, Madeley, Telford will be amongst the first charities in the country to use its own, unique personalised text code BAND10 to raise funds using JustTextGiving by Vodafone.

Local music supporters use text message service to raise funds

The new, free service for charities has no set up or fundraising costs for charities and no network charges for people making donations so every penny donated goes to charity. It also has the benefit that Gift Aid can also be added to donations.

From today, supporters of Supporters of Music at Abraham Darby Academy can make donations of up to a maximum of £10 per single donation by texting the message BAND10 together with the amount of the donation to 70070 to make their donation. The text message is free of charge and all of the donation will be passed to Supporters of Music at Abraham Darby Academy.

Andrew Roberts, Chairperson of the Supporters of Music at Abraham Darby Academy said that hopefully this new facility would prove to be a wonderful additional method for us to raise money as it is speedy, simple and spontaneous. Most people have a mobile phone these days so we would hope that this will prove to be very popular with our supporters in that it offers a quick and simple method to make donations. Please could I sincerely thank anybody in advance who wishes to donate to the bands in this way.
