Police in Telford are appealing for information after a 41-year-old woman was robbed on Trench Road in Trench yesterday.

Police appeal following robbery in Trench

The woman was robbed whilst making her way the short distance from the One Stop shop to her parked car at around 9.30am. Without warning the woman was pushed in the back from behind by an unknown man.

Having been pushed, the victim banged her head on a wall and fell to the ground and the man then grabbed a black, cloth bag - with Breast Cancer Research on it – off her and made off with it.

Speaking about this robbery, Detective Sergeant Andy Garrett said:

“The stolen bag contained a significant amount of cash – more than £1000 – and also a bank paying in book. Having stolen the bag it appears the thief – who is described as being white, slim, around 5ft 7inches tall, with dark hair and as wearing a blue jumper and jeans – made off down Stanmore Drive.

“The victim is very shaken by the incident and suffered bruising to her forehead and grazes to her hands as a result of this robbery.

“We have conducted house-to-house enquiries in the area but are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this robbery. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the offender before or after he committed this offence.

“Anyone who believes they may have information that could aid our investigation is asked to call officers at Malinsgate Police Station on 0300 333 3000.

“Alternatively, please remember that if you’d rather pass on information without getting directly involved yourself, then you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. It’s worth noting that cash rewards of up to £1000 are on offer from this independent charity if information and individual passes on results in someone being arrested and charged.”
