The man barged into her as he passed by and then pushed her against a wall before making inappropriate comment of a sexual nature.

She managed to break free by kicking the man and ran off.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident which happened at around 8.50pm on Saturday in an alleyway running from the rear of The Severn Centre towards Bridgnorth Road.

It was reported yesterday. Police Constable Ian Cole, the investigating officer, said: “I am anxious to hear from anyone who can assist our inquiries. In particular, please make contact if you were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious which might be connected, or if you have information about the identity of the offender.”

He said the man, thought to be in his late teens or early twenties, had his face covered by a hoodie top.

PC Cole can be contacted at Bridgnorth police station on 0300 333 3000. Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
