Families from across Dawley and beyond enjoyed the annual Dawly Parish Council Summer Fete on Saturday.

Families enjoy fun day in Dawley

The event has become a firm favourite in the calendar of local residents was once again well supported by local organisations and charities.

Cllr Shaun Davies, Chairman of Great Dawley Parish Council said:

"In this age of bad news, it was excellent to see so many families from across Dawley, Malinlsee and surrounding areas coming together for a fun day and at the same time to support local charities from across Shropshire, the weather held out, and we must have had close on a thousand people come and go and across the day"

Cllr Brian Duce, Vice Chair of the Parish Council added:

"Dawley day is the start of the summer, and as a local Councillor it was a joy to see our community come together"

Activities in the main arena included Telford’s Got Talent finalists, local dance groups and gymnastic display teams. An animal show also proved popular.

Other highlights included a Traction Ride, Donkey Rides and stall, a Climbing Wall from Telford & Wrekin Council and various charity, trade & car boot stalls.

The Wrekin Road Runners also held a fun run during the afternoon.
