Investigation launched as woman is sexually assaulted in Madeley
Police in Telford are appealing for information from the public as they attempt to trace three individuals who may have important information that could assist them with their investigation into a sexual assault that occurred early on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred sometime between 2.10am and 3.10am as the victim – a woman in her mid 30s – made her way home after a night out in Madeley.
The victim states that as she walked home she was subjected to a sexual assault in the woodland just off Hills Lane Drive.
Having been assaulted by an unknown man, the victim then made her way onto Madeley High Street where she asked for help from a member of the public and called the police.
DS Dafydd Jones from CID in Telford said: “We arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of rape on Saturday night in connection with this incident. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have information that could aid our investigation but do have specific people we are especially keen to speak with.
“We are particularly keen to speak to a man and woman who were sat on a bench on the Cuckoo Oak roundabout next to Prince Street between 2.15am and 2.45am on Saturday morning. The victim states that she approached these two people – who are both described a being white and in their early 20s - and asked the woman, who is also described as being blonde and as wearing an animal print top, for a light for her cigarette.
“We are also keen to trace a black female who was parked up in a burgundy vehicle on Madeley High Street a short time later, as the victim knocked on the window of this vehicle to ask for assistance before continuing up the street after this assault.
“We are keen to speak to these three individuals as they are potentially very important witnesses in this case. I would stress that we wish to speak to them only as witnesses and just so that we can establish whether they have information that could assist our enquiry.
“Any of these three potential witnesses, or indeed anyone who feels they may have information about this incident, is asked to contact officers in CID at Malinsgate Police Station as soon as is possible on 0300 333 3000.
“Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously 0800 555 111.”
