Shrewsbury police seek man who may be able to help with burglary investigation

This CCTV picture was taken near The Vaults in Castle Gates on Monday, May 2 at around the time the pub was broken into.

Investigating officer, PC Ingrid Hall, said: “It’s possible he saw or heard something which might assist our inquiries. He was in the locality at the time and could have information which will help.

“I would urge him to get in touch and also appeal for anyone who can identify him to contact me at Shrewsbury police station on 0300 333 3000. Information can also e given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.”

She said the man appeared to be in his mid forties to mid fifties, of slim build, medium height and with a gaunt appearance. He was wearing grey chino type trousers, a grey shirt and a woolly hat.

The burglary happened between 6am and 6.30am. Damage was caused to doors during a forced entry and a gaming machine smashed. It’s thought about £50 was stolen from the machine.
