Man critical following collision with transit van in Telford

A white Transit van was travelling from the direction of The Humbers towards Kinnersley when it was in collision with a male pedestrian.

The 35 year-old pedestrian, who had been out running with his dog and was travelling in the same direction as the van, was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital with serious head injuries.

He was later transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. His condition is described as critical.

Police are investigating the collision and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Garry Moody said: “The pedestrian was out running with his dog at the time of the collision. We are eager to hear from anyone who saw the man prior to the collision.

“We also want to speak to anyone who saw the white Ford Transit van before the collision occurred.”

Anyone with information in relation to the collision is urged to contact Police Constable Garry Moody on 0300 333 3000.
