Two arrested following alleged metal theft in Telford
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of theft after police were called to reports of suspicious activity in a Telford wood.

A member of the public called police at around 10.55pm last night to report alleged suspicious activity on land at the back of Wynns Coppice.
Officers attended and a search was carried out using the Force helicopter, dog handlers and Police Officers.
Two men – aged 33 and 41 – were arrested on suspicion of theft and a number of items were seized from the area including cable, saws and torches.
The men were taken to Malinsgate Police Station for questioning. The pair remain in custody this afternoon and are being interviewed by officers.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “A member of the public alerted us immediately to what they thought was alleged suspicious activity. The swift response enabled us to act quickly and deploy the Force helicopter, dog handlers and police
officers. It resulted in two arrests.”
Operation Livewire is an ongoing West Mercia Police campaign to tackle the theft of metals across Shropshire.
Police are carrying out stop checks on vehicles carrying scrap metal and scrap dealers are also being subjected to spot checks to ensure that they are operating legally and not receiving stolen goods.
