Telford man involved in serious collision more than a week ago dies

The 35 year-old man, who is not yet being named, died yesterday at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The man was out running with his dog in Hill Road in Donnington when he was in collision with a white Transit van, travelling in the same direction, at around 6.20am on Monday 11 July.

He was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford suffering with serious head injuries. He was transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where he died yesterday.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Garry Moody said: "Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the collision and we really need to identify any potential witnesses.

"In particular we would like to hear from anybody who saw the man out running with his dog from the direction of The Humbers towards Kinnersley.

"We also want to hear from anybody who saw the white Transit van, which was travelling in the same direction as the man out running, either prior to the collision or who saw the collision itself."

Anyone with information in relation to the collision is urged to contact Police Constable Garry Moody on 0300 333 3000.

The coroner has been informed.
