New community bus service launches in Dawley
A new community bus service run by Telford & Wrekin Council which links Dawley Bank with the centre of Dawley has launched today. The service has been set up in response to requests by local residents after changes to bus routes in November last year.

Following extensive consultation with residents, the bus will run every Monday except Bank Holidays and is available for all residents to use.
Local residents will need to register in order to use the service. Registration is free and people can register on board the bus the first time they use it.
Using the bus costs a flat rate of £1.20, whether single or return, although it is free to use for England Concessionary Bus Card holders.
There are three other community buses in the borough and there will be slight changes to those services from 8 August 2011.
The other community buses serve St George’s, Wombridge and Sutton Hill/Woodside and there will be slight changes to the times. New timetables will be available from the drivers or from Telford Travelink.
The Sutton Hill/Woodside service will operate only on Tuesdays in future, having previously also operated on Fridays.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes, cabinet member for Transport, Environment and Community Protection, said: “As part of our Co-operative Council approach, we have listened to what residents wanted and I am delighted that we have been able to organise a new community service for Dawley to complement the other three community buses in the borough.”
Councillor Shaun Davies, ward member for Malinslee which covers Dawley Bank, said: “I hope that all these services will be useful to residents and that they will make use of them. A review of all these routes will be undertaken in six months time to assess usage and see if any improvements can be made.”
