Police arrest wanted Shrewsbury man in Telford
Police have arrested a 28-year-old Shrewsbury man wanted for recall to prison and other matters.
Steven Ronald Bebb was arrested at an address in Brookside, Telford last night. Officers made a forced entry shortly after 10pm and Bebb was taken into custody at Malinsgate police station.
Police issued Bebb's details and picture earlier this month appealing for information on his whereabouts.
He was wanted after being recalled to prison for breaching the conditions of his licence. Police in Shrewsbury also wanted to speak to him about an alleged assault in which a woman received cuts and bruises.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "We are grateful for information received from members of the public following our appeal. He had been seen several times in the Telford area and officers made the arrest at a house in Brookside last night."
Bebb, nicknamed "Finney", was serving a sentence for house burglary when released on licence in February. He was recalled to prison for breaching several conditions of his licence.
