Telford & Wrekin Council has identified the state of the borough’s roads as a major priority and is investing to improve carriageways across Telford and Wrekin.

An extensive summer programme of improvements will mean that Jubilee Avenue in Donnington will be one of the next areas to benefit starting on Monday 15 August.

The work is expected to take five days and a stop and go system of traffic control will be in operation to keep traffic moving.

Leaflets will be posted to any properties in the immediate area of the improvements providing information and details for residents to contact should they have any special access requirements during the upgrade.

Cllr Hilda Rhodes, Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport & Community Protection said: “Improving the state of roads and footpaths across the Borough is a priority which Telford & Wrekin Council are committed to. This has been shown as part of the new administrations 100 day budget review where an extra £1.5 million has been allocated to the improvement of our road network.

“During the works on Jubilee Avenue a stop and go traffic control system will be in place to keep road users moving. Whilst this may cause a small amount of delay we hope residents will understand we need to carry out this work in order to continue to improve the quality of roads across the borough.”
