Driver injured as tractor collides with JCB lift truck in Shropshire

The truck he was driving overturned after reportedly colliding with a tractor on Clee Hill Road shortly after 10.30am this morning.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“The driver of the overturned truck, a 54 year old man, had managed to crawl out of the cab prior to the emergency services arriving.

“He sustained a traumatic limb threatening injury to his arm and was in a lot of pain. The man also suffered leg and pelvic injuries.

“Crews and the doctor immediately gave the man pain relief before assessing his injuries. They cleaned and dressed his arm before carefully immobilising it with a splint. The man was also immobilised with a neck collar, spinal board and pelvic splint before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for emergency treatment.”

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
