Expensive car stolen during house burglary in Telford

The incident occurred at an address on Mannerley Lane sometime between 1.30am and 5.15am it appears that thieves broke into the property by forcing open a small window in the conservatory.

While the occupants of the house were asleep upstairs, the thieves then carried out a thorough search of the downstairs rooms before stealing a number of items and making their escape.

The items stolen in the burglary include an LG television, a flatscreen television, 2 HTC mobile phones, an Acer netbook computer and around £55 in cash.

A police spokesman said:

"It appears that, in addition to the items that were stolen from inside the property, the thieves also took a set of car keys from in the house and then used them to steal a blue, 2011 Mercedes E Class from off the drive. This vehicle itself was worth almost £40,000.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this burglary, especially anyone who may know where any of the stolen property - including the car - can now be found.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact investigating officers on 0300 333 3000. Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously 0800 555 111."
