Three arrested on suspected drug offences in Oswestry

The men, all in their forties, were taken into custody on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A controlled drugs.

They are currently being held at Shrewsbury police station for questioning.

Police officers attended an address in Eden Street where two of the suspects were arrested between 6.15pm and 6.35pm. The third man was arrested in King Street, Oswestry at around the same time.

A quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine was also seized.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "This is the latest in a series of drug-related arrests in Shropshire.

"Tackling illegal drugs and associated crime remains a top priority for police across the region and with the support of the public we are achieving positive results.

"As always, we welcome any information from people in our communities about suspected drug activity. They can call the police in confidence on 0300 333 3000, or alternatively, contact the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111."
