Telford Fish Bar admits poor hygiene standards
A Ketley business has been fined £1,000 after admitting failing to maintain satisfactory hygiene standards.

Surinder Kumar, the business operator of Thiara’s Fish Bar in Ketley, pleaded guilty to a number of food hygiene offences at Telford Magistrates Court on Friday.
Mr Kumar was also ordered to pay £2,177 costs and a victim surcharge of £15 following a Telford & Wrekin Council prosecution after an investigation by the Council’s Environmental Health team.
Offences which contravened the Food Hygiene Regulations 2006, included failing to ensure that food handlers were wearing protective clothing, failing to ensure that the premises were kept clean, and failing to provide hand washing and hand drying facilities at the wash hand basin in the kitchen.
Mr Kumar took over Thiara’s Fish Bar in June 2010. All offences for which Mr Kumar has pleaded guilty relate to 25 October 2010.
