Police officers in Telford are investigating following a robbery in Brookside. The incident occurred on the Silkin Way last Friday.

Police Investigate Robbery In Brookside, Telford

Sometime between 10.45pm and 11pm, as the victim - a 32-year-old man - walked along the track, three unknown men approached him. One of the men was riding a bicycle.

Without warning one of the men grabbed the victim and threw him to the floor. The victim was then kicked and punched several times by two of the men. The assault forced the victim to release the rucksack he had been carrying over his right shoulder.

The man on the bicycle then grabbed the victim's rucksack and made off with it on his bike in the direction of Telford town centre.

A police spokesman said:

"As the third man made off with the rucksack an unknown individual shouted that they were going to call the police and the two men who were assaulting the victim immediately made off.

"The victim then slowly got to his feet and made his way home before reporting this incident to the police. As a result of this robbery the victim suffered cuts to the bridge of his nose and forehead, bruising and swelling to his arms and back, and grazes to his legs.

"The items stolen in this robbery - which were in the rucksack the third man made off with - was an Acer laptop computer, a number of personal documents and also around £90 in cash.

"All three men that carried out this robbery are described as being white, while two of them are thought to be aged in their late 20s or early 30s and the other as being in his late teens.

"The first man is described as wearing a dark jacket, dark trousers and white trainers, the second is described as wearing a grey hooded top, dark trousers and ‘Rockport' style boots and the third man - the youngest - is described as being dressed in dark clothing.

"Anyone with information about this robbery - and particularly the witness whose shouts caused the offenders to flee the scene - is asked to call police in Telford on 0300 333 3000.

"Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously 0800 555 111."
