Man injured following fight in Shrewsbury town centre

A man was taken to hospital following a fight in Shrewsbury town centre during the early hours of Saturday.

Man injured following fight in Shrewsbury town centre

The 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries including a broken nose and fractured cheek bone after fighting with another man in Castle Street at around 4.15am on Saturday.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man was arrested minutes after the incident was reported. He was taken into custody on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and has been bailed while police inquiries continued.

West Mercia Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to contact Shrewsbury police station on 0300 333 3000.
