Summer of success at leading Shropshire arts venue
The Hive Music and Media Centre in Shrewsbury reports that the Centre has seen one of it’s most successful and busiest summer seasons to date.

The diverse and lively venue in the heart of Shropshire is looking forward to the same level of success throughout the forthcoming autumn season.
Once again, the Centre provided an exciting array of popular activities to give young people opportunities to have fun, develop new skills and be creative during the long summer break. Workshop participants aged 8-16 enjoyed a wide variety of workshops which explored music-making, drama, garden crafts, fashion, storytelling and illustration. This year’s childrens puppet show also proved a major success, with a packed audience watching the sell-out performance of Little Bo Peep in August.
Additionally there has been a surge in bookings for the venue’s monthly folk concerts, following on directly from the success of the Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Folk enthusiasts from across the region have been snapping up the unique chance to see world-class names performing on the Hive’s stage.
Habib Malik-Mansell, Marketing Assistant at the Hive said “It’s encouraging to see so many young people taking part in the Hive’s summer workshops and positive to see new skills being developed by all involved. The Hive continually strives to offer young people a range of creative activities to ensure that there is always something for all interests and abilities”.
