Inquest opened following fatal house fire in Ludlow
An inquest has opened on a 72-year-old woman who died in a fire at her Ludlow home on Monday.

Anne Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene of the severe fire at the three-bedroomed house in Stanton Drive during the early hours. Her pet black Labrador dog also died.
Neighbours tried to rescue the 72-year-old before fire crews arrived but were beaten back by flames.
Mr Das Gupta from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The house was very severely damaged. It was an intense blaze and firefighters had to be very careful about a possible collapse of the building while they were inside.”
Shropshire fire crews were helped at the scene during the height of the fire by colleagues from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. A total of 25 firefighters and four engines were at the scene.
The assistant deputy coroner for south Shropshire, Mr Andrew Barclay opened an inquest today for evidence of identification. The hearing was then adjourned to a future date.
Police and the fire service are continuing to investigate how and when the fire started but have said it does not appear to be suspicious.
