Rural Space members straddle the saddle for DecAid
A Shropshire private health and fitness studio is going the extra mile to help a student-run charity appeal which is aiming to raise £350,000 for members of the UK Armed Forces.

Lots of the 200 members of Rural Space, which is based in Pimhill just outside Shrewsbury, have signed up to take part in DecAid’s Ride2Remember fundraiser by cycling the 3550 mile distance from London to Kabul in Afghanistan on static bikes between 3rd and 9th October.
Participants have set themselves the target of raising £1 for every mile they cycle, with all money received set to be shared between two charities, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families’ Association (SSAFA) Forces Help and the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen Association (BLESMA).
DecAid is a student-led appeal aiming to raise awareness of the fact that this October will mark the tenth anniversary of the UK Armed Forces’ involvement in the conflict in Afghanistan. The campaign, which has HRH the Duchess of Cornwall as its Royal Patron, has received support from many celebrities, including renowned adventurer and TV presenter Bear Grylls, who said:
“DecAid is doing vital life-changing work to help those British soldiers injured in the line of duty. I admire both the soldiers and DecAid's mission so much, and I feel a real sense of duty to get behind them and help them in their goal. I, for one, am in and proud! Now, where do I donate?”
