Shropshire constituencies to change under review
Proposals to redraw boundaries on the electoral map and reduce the number of MPs to 600 would affect three of Shropshire’s five parliamentary constituencies it was revealed today.

Under the review Telford’s two seats would be changed to become Telford North & the Wrekin and Telford South and Bridgnorth.
The Ludlow constituency would be redrawn to Ludlow and Leominster.
Whilst no boundary change would take place, the Shrewsbury and Atcham constituency would become ‘Shrewsbury’.
The plans are being drawn up by the Boundary Commission for England and will be subject to two years of consultation before being finalised in October 2013 - in time for the next general election in 2015.
MPs will be able to "appeal" against the provisional changes during a 12-week consultation taking place between now and December.
The government believes a smaller Commons will lower the cost of politics, saving £12m, while the system will be fairer as the number of registered voters in each constituency will be more uniform.
Conservative leader David Cameron, MP for Witney, and Labour leader Ed Miliband, MP for Doncaster North, are among 77 people whose constituencies would be unaffected by the changes.
