Two Shropshire podcasters are hoping to raise £1,000 for The Alzheimer's Society with a 24 hour podcasting marathon.

Shropshire podcasters to take part in 24hr charity podcasting marathon

Tim Barnes and Simon Berry, both from Shrewsbury, begin their marathon at 10pm on 27th September and will be recording and releasing a new podcast on the hour every hour, right through to 10pm on Wednesday 28th.

A podcast is an audio file which can be downloaded and played on your computer or MP3 player, much the same as a music download. Tim and Simon’s Podathon is available for free and can be retrieved from their website and found on iTunes.

Tim and Simon are already successful in the podcasting world with their other comedy show Tim and Simon's Brain Spill, which has now been downloaded around 100,000 times and has been featured on the main iTunes podcast page.

"We like to keep our podcasts light and funny, the real challenge for the Podathon is keeping the podcasts funny when we've been awake for 30 hours." said Simon of the challenge.

The pair will be recording the podcast from Tim's flat in Castlefields, Shrewsbury.

Tim explained, "Im kicking the wife out for a day or two and stocking up on coffee. It's going to be a long old day but it's all for a good cause, so it's definitely worth it."

For more information on how to donate to The Alzheimer's Society, find out about Tim and Simon, and to listen to the Podathon itself, please visit www.timandsimon.co.uk.
