Shropshire village show raises more than £10,000 for good causes
An annual Shropshire village show raised more than £10,000 which will be distributed to a number of charities as well as the local church and village hall.

Weston under Redcastle Show was held on August 7 at the Citadel Showground and organisers have hailed the 2011 event as a resounding success.
The event has evolved from a small village fete to a major annual event in north Shropshire and was this year officially opened by Shirley Tart MBE, of the Shropshire Magazine.
The hundreds of visitors were treated to a variety of attractions including parades of vintage tractors, classic cars, a Shire horse parade, carriage driving, mounted pony club games and North Shropshire hounds and terrier racing.
Chris Dunford, spokeswoman for the show, said: “It was a wonderful day for everyone involved, the weather held out for us, we had a great turnout and we raised thousands of pounds for good causes.
“We are very grateful to all those who supported us and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.”
The money raised will be distributed to Weston Church, the village hall the MS Society, Help For Heroes Grinshill Animal Rescue.
Show sponsors Linder Myers solicitors, based in Shrewsbury, said: “We are extremely pleased that so much money was raised for so many good causes.”
