Whitchurch knife incident man in court
A 28-year-old man was due to appear in court today in connection with a knife incident in Whitchurch town centre in which a man received slash wounds to his head and hand.
The man, who comes from Shrewsbury, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article, namely a samurai sword in a public place. He was detained in custody overnight to appear before Shrewsbury magistrates this morning.
The incident happened outside Fiona’s Coffee Shop in the Watergate Arcade at around 4pm on Tuesday.
