Thieves carry out spate of burglaries in Church Stretton
Police today appealed for witnesses following a spate of burglaries at homes in Church Stretton.

They are investigating five incidents at unoccupied homes over the weekend and believe the same offenders are responsible.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We are not sure exactly when these offences occurred but it is likely to have been during the hours of darkness on either Friday or Saturday nights.
"All five homes were unoccupied at the time and the burglars have ransacked them making an untidy search of rooms and pulling out drawers.
"It seems jewellery and cash were the main items targeted although a vase, keys, shoe horn and silver-plated candelabra were also stolen from one of the homes."
Two of the properties were in Oaks Drive and one in Oaks Road. The others were in Watling Street South and Stretton Farm Road.
The police spokesperson said: "We are anxious to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious which might be connected to these crimes.
"Entry was gained by forcing windows or doors and there would have been considerable noise. Please call Ludlow or Shrewsbury police stations on 0300 333 3000 if you have any information which may assist the police investigation."
House to house enquiries have already been carried out. Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
