New Telford police chief looks to the future
Telford's new Territorial Policing Unit Commander, Temporary Superintendent Paul Moxley, has expressed his excitement at stepping up into his new role following the retirement of Superintendent Gary Higgins last month.

Having previously been an Inspector in Telford six years ago, Temporary Superintendent Moxley has spent the last few years involved with a number of projects before returning to Telford TPU on 1 January 2011.
He initially left Telford after being promoted to Chief Inspector in Shrewsbury and then, having completed two years in Shrewsbury he became a Chief Inspector in the Operations Support department. Off the back of this role he was posted to a Project Management Team - working on a mobile data project - before taking up his latest role in Telford at the turn of the year.
Since returning to Telford as Chief Inspector of Operations he has prepared and planned for several important events, the most significant of which was Operation Crown - the policing plan that was put in place to deal with the high profile EDL protest that took place in Wellington in August.
This operation was a huge success and the fact it passed off so peacefully reflected very well on the plans that Temporary Superintendent Moxley had helped put in place.
Speaking about his new role, Temporary Superintendent Moxley said:
"I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to lead the TPU and look forward to the challenges ahead.
"I am determined to build on the good work done by my predecessor Superintendent Higgins and ensure that the people of Telford & Wrekin remain safe as they go about their normal, everyday lives.
"With our partners, I will work to build on the already established important links with the communities we serve to ensure that those who cause the most harm are dealt with as robustly as possible. I would ask that communities continue to play their part in helping my officers police their local areas and remind residents of the Borough that by working with us, together we really can make sure that Telford & Wrekin remains a pleasant place to live and work.
"Although there is no doubt the future landscape of policing will change significantly over the next few years, I am confident that the officers and staff who work in Telford will continue work hard and do their utmost to keep our communities safe."
