Police investigate spate of vehicle crime in West Felton

Four vehicles were broken into over Sunday night into yesterday morning with property worth more than £1,500 stolen.

Windows were smashed in several of the vehicles resulting in damage of around £300.

Two of the breakins were in Wheatlands and the other two in Alma Close. Police are urging residents to get in touch if they saw anything suspicious which may be linked to the crimes.

A full set of golf clubs valued at £1,000 was taken from the passenger footwell of a white Mitsubishi pick-up in Wheatlands between 5.30pm Sunday and 7am yesterday. At about the same time, a sat-nav charger was grabbed from a blue Volkswagen Caddy van in the same street.

The incidents are being linked to two further breakins which happened at around 3am yesterday in Alma Close. A Mamo pushchair worth £30 and a Halfords child's car seat valued at £110 were taken from a Vauxhall Corsa on a drive and a Dell lap top worth £400 was stolen from the boot of a black Audi parked on the road at a neighbouring property.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "We are hoping someone may have seen suspicious activity which will help us identify the offenders. We are appealing for any information which could assist the investigation to be forwarded to Oswestry police station on 0300 333 3000."

Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
