Police in Telford are investigating a burglary at a car sales business on Station Hill in St Georges sometime between 8.30pm on Sunday and 8.30am on Monday.

Thieves steal cash from Telford car sales business

Thieves broke into the premises by cutting through a perspex sky light in the roof of the workshop and then climbing inside.

They then carried out a thorough search of the workshop before stealing more than £2000 in cash - notes and coins - from the adjoining office.

While in the office the thieves also forced open a brown wooden cabinet and stole a number of sets of car keys from inside.

A police spokesman said:

"Having stolen the cash and the car keys, the thieves then used two of the sets of keys to steal a red Skoda Octavia and a silver Peugeot 306 from off the forecourt at the premises before making their escape from the scene.

"The two stolen cars are still outstanding at the present time and therefore officers are keen to hear from anyone who may know where they can currently be found.

"Investigating officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this burglary or anyone who believes they may have information about it.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police in Telford on 0300 333 3000. Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather not get directly involved yourself."
