Two cars stolen in Bridgnorth after thieves steal keys

A dark blue Audi S6 estate was stolen from a home in Chesterton and a blue Nissan Almera was taken from the drive of a house in St Nicholas Road, Bridgnorth.

Both burglaries happened overnight on Saturday and police say they may be linked.

The Almera was later found burnt out on the Shropshire-Staffordshire border.

Police today issued an appeal for witnesses - especially from anyone who spotted suspicious activity at the two locations on
Saturday night into the early hours of yesterday. The number to call is Bridgnorth police station on 0300 333 3000.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said the thieves broke into the Chesterton address by forcing a ground floor window between 1am and 2.30am yesterday. They took keys from the hallway and drove off in the Audi, registration number MDO6OUU.

In the second incident, the Almera - registration Y769NDB - was stolen between 6.45pm on Saturday and 11am yesterday. Entry was gained by smashing a window and other items stolen included a 36-inch TWF flat screen television and a Dell laptop.

The police spokesperson said the car was found burnt out at 2pm yesterday in Bennett's Lane, Pattingham, Staffordshire.
"We are appealing for any information which might assist our inquiries, either at the two locations or after the burglars made their getaway."

Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
