A 25-year-old pizza delivery man was robbed in Trench, Telford during the early hours of this morning.

Pizza delivery person robbed in Telford

At just after 12.45am the victim was on his way to deliver pizzas to an address on Maple Close when he was approached by two men with scarves covering their faces.

One of the men threatened the victim with what appeared to be a baseball bat and the second man then demanded money from the money belt the victim was wearing.

Feeling threatened the delivery man handed over the belt and the men then also demanded his black Samsung mobile phone. The victim handed the phone over too.

A police spokesman said:

"One of the two offenders then grabbed the three pizzas the victim was carrying before both men then fled the scene on foot. Strangely the two men made off in completely different directions.

"In total around £100 cash was stolen as a result of this robbery in addition to the mobile phone and the pizzas.

"Although the victim - who is Asian - speaks very little English, he has been able to give us the following description of the two men that robbed him.

"The first man is described as being white, as just over 6ft tall and as wearing a cream top and dark coloured bottoms, while the second man is also described as being white, as around 5ft 7inches tall and as being dressed all in black. Both men are described as wearing ‘sports' clothing.

"Anyone who believes they may have witnessed this incident, or who may have seen the two offenders in and around Maple Close early this morning, is asked to call officers in CID in Telford on 0300 333 3000.

"Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather not get directly involved yourself."
