Police investigate sexual assault on 14-year-old girl in Shrewsbury
Police are investigating a sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl in Shrewsbury's Quarry park early on Sunday evening.

Detective Sergeant John Weaver said today: "Quite a number of people were in the Quarry at the time and we are asking anyone who saw anything which might be connected, to contact Shrewsbury CID on 0300 333 3000."
He said the girl was not seriously injured.
"It happened between around 5.30pm and 7.30pm close to the Hercules statue close to the river. We are appealing for people to contact the police if they saw a girl and young man involved in intimate behaviour near the statue."
DS Weaver said the victim had been with two female friends. They had made their way over Porthill bridge into the Quarry at around 5.30pm walking towards the Dingle where they sat on the grass for a while.
"They were joined by two young men. The girl was sexually assaulted by one of the men a short time later before 7.30pm in the vicinity of the Hercules statue.
"We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances and I urge anyone who can assist the police to call us without delay," he added.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault. He has been given police bail while inquiries continue.
