Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Willow Bank in Aqueduct last Friday 28 October.

Teenager injured in Aqueduct assault

Sometime between 3pm and 4.30pm, as the 14-year-old boy completed his paper round on his bicycle he was approached by a group containing three girls and a boy.

Without warning the group pulled the victim off his bike and started to attack him, slapping and punching him a number of times to the head and body.

After a short time the four offenders made off and left the victim to make his way home before reporting the assault.

As a result of this incident the victim suffered a split lip, swelling and bruising to his jaw and bruising to his right cheekbone. He did not require medical treatment.

The victim believes his attackers were aged between 13 and 15 and that two of the girls involved were possibly sisters.

A police spokesman said:

"We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident and are particularly keen to speak to a man who the victim saw walking his dog past the scene of the assault at around the time it happened. This man is a potentially vital witness.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police in Telford of 0300 333 3000. Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather not get directly involved yourself."
