The Shropshire Disability Network is encouraging people with a disability and their carers to respond to Shropshire Council's Consultation on proposed changes to the Blue Badge Scheme.

Shropshire Blue Badge Consultation deadline approaches

They are encouraging people with a disability and their carers to respond to the consultation on proposed changes before 16th November.

No information is available via the Councils telephone system and no specific questions are being asked - responses must be made via email to Samantha.Tharme@Shropshire.gov.uk or by letter/post to Samantha Tharme, Shropshire Council, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND.

Complete details of this consultation can be found at www.shropshire-disability.net

Sonia Roberts-Chair of SDN said at a recent meeting “I cannot stress enough how important it is that people in Shropshire make their feelings known to our Council on this subject.

"Many who attended the recent Hardest Hit Debate Shropshire will have heard the real concerns & worries regarding the difficulties that some of our most vulnerable people endure when trying to carry out tasks-which many of us we take for granted. I would urge your people to look at full details on our website-and then write their comments & send to Shropshire Council either on-line or by post”.

People who have no computer access can call Ruby Hartshorn on 01743 340832 or Trevor Dickenson on 01952 261146 for further details.

Comments must be received by 16th November 2011.
