An investigation has been launched after thieves forced their way into a Telford tyre company during the early hours of this morning.

Thieves target Telford tyre centre overnight

The business on Holyhead Road in Ketley was broken into sometime between 1.45am and 2.50am this morning, thieves broke into the tyre service centre by forcing open a fire door at the rear of the building.

Once inside the building the thieves carried out a thorough search before placing a number of items into a black dustbin they had emptied, which they then used to carry the stolen property away from the premises.

The items stolen in this burglary include two torque wrenches and a number of power tools. The business owners are yet to establish exactly how many items have been stolen.

This burglary was reported to police when there was an alarm activation at around 2.35am and officers responded to the activation immediately.

An investigation was launched straight away and forensic officers will be attending the scene this morning to assess whether any potential evidence can be found at the premises.

Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw suspicious or unusual activity on Holyhead Road last night and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police in Telford on 0300 333 3000.

Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather not get directly involved yourself.
