Jewellery worth thousands stolen in Oswestry burglary
Jewellery worth several thousand pounds has been stolen by a sneak-thief from an Oswestry home. The burglary in Caer Road was reported on Saturday after the householder discovered jewellery items missing.

There were no signs of a forced entry but it's believed the thief may have sneaked in through an insecure door.
Police are appealing for witnesses or information concerning the whereabouts of the items stolen.
The jewellery included a thick gold bracelet with a large square containing a sovereign; a gold bracelet with the word "mum" engraved in a swirling pattern; and a gold cluster type bracelet with an engraved pattern.
A number of gold rings were also taken, including a distinctive Irish wedding ring with black stone held in place by a set of hands; a plain band with a single black stone; a thick, plain band with ruby stone surrounded by a clear diamond cluster; a large sovereign ring; another sovereign ring with the coin bent in shape rather than being flat; and a half sovereign ring.
Two necklasses were also stolen - a gold chain and an antique chain with St Christopher sovereign.
Anyone with information about the burglary, or if offered similar items for sale, should contact Oswestry police station on 101.
Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
