Shrewsbury burglary suspect arrested
A 43-year-old Shrewsbury man is today being questioned by police about recent house burglaries in the town.

The man was arrested last night in Long Row, Ditherington following a police search and pursuit on foot. Officers had earlier called at the suspect's home to carryout out a search warrant.
Police have made household burglaries a top priority following a sharp increase in breakins during the past two months.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Edwards today repeated his call for public help in preventing and detecting offences.
"Not only do local residents need to tighten up on their basic security in the home, I want people to contact us immediately they see anything suspicious by calling the new police 101 number.
"We need the public to pass on information. With their support, we will check out and challenge anyone whose behaviour gives rise for concern."
Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111 for which a reward may be paid.
