Shropshire comedy podcasters Tim Barnes and Simon Berry, both 24, will be appearing on television's Bargain Hunt on the 23rd November on BBC1.

Shropshire podcasters to appear on BBC's Bargain Hunt

The pair, who both live in Shrewsbury are appearing on Bargain Hunt, the popular day time TV show. Two teams are pitted against each other with £300 and one hour to find bargains at an antiques fair to sell on at auction, to hopefully make a profit.

Tim and Simon are known for producing comedy podcasts, including their recent Podathon, where they released 25 podcasts in 24 hours raising over £750 for the Alzheimer’s society, and their popular Brain Spill podcast.

“We were very honest about the fact we know nothing about antiques, the only thing I collect is DVDs. Thankfully our antiques expert, David Harper, was on hand to stop us buying junk”, Tim said of his knowledge of antiques.

The duo remain tight lipped about the outcome of the show. Simon said, "Weren't exactly the best bargain hunters ever, but that didn’t hold us back. Despite a complete lack of antiques knowledge, we were determined to win. We did have very worthy opponents though."

Their opposing Bargain Hunt contestants are Sally Colledge and Maddy Moore, both from Llanfyllin.

The programme was recorded at the Shropshire Showground and Halls Fine Arts auction house in May and will be aired on Wednesday 23rd November at 12:15pm on BBC 1.
