Police officers are investigating after a burglary at a home in Horsehay on Friday.

Thieves target home in Horsehay

Sometime between 12pm and 1.15pm thieves broke into the property by smashing a window at the rear of the house with a large stone. They then entered the house through the smashed window before carrying out a thorough, untidy search inside.

The items stolen in this break-in include a black, Samsung MVM 510 Netbook computer with a distinctive ‘zig zag' scratch on the top, a silver Apple iPod Nano, a Marantz PMD 620 audio recorder, a Sony DCRPC10E camcorder and several items of jewellery.

One of the items of jewellery stolen is described as an 18 carat, white gold, diamond finger ring - which has rows of circular and square cut diamonds on it worth around £1000.

In addition around £400 of foreign currency - Dollars and Euros - was also stolen during this burglary.

It appears that a green Regatta rucksack was also taken by the thieves and then used to carry the stolen property away from the scene.

Anyone with information about this incident, especially anyone who saw anything suspicious in this part of Horsehay on Friday, is asked to contact police in Telford on 101 - the new West Mercia Police non emergency telephone number.

Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather not get directly involved yourself.
