Police are urging witnesses to come forward after two men were injured following an incident outside a Wellington nightclub.

Man hit by car during incident outside Wellington nightclub

In the early hours of today two men, aged 26 and 22, were standing outside Pussy Cats nightclub in Tan Bank in Wellington.

As the pair chatted, they were approached by a group of up to six males. An altercation took place where punches were exchanged.

Members of the group of men got into a vehicle and drove at the two victims. The 22 year-old man jumped out of the way of the car but the vehicle ran over his foot.

The car hit the 26 year-old victim causing him to fall onto the bonnet. The victim, held onto the bonnet of the vehicle as it turned into the main road. The driver swerved the vehicle from side to side where the victim eventually fell to the floor.

The offenders then drove off.

Police are investigating and are keen to speak to witnesses who were leaving the club at the time of the incident.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The man who was driven around, while clinging to the bonnet of the car, suffered a number of cuts and bruises to his face and body. The 22 year-old victim suffered cuts and bruises to his body, in particular to his foot after the car ran over it.

"This is an extremely serious incident and we will do all we can to catch those responsible.

"Offenders were in a group of around six males. One of them was white and the other members were black. The car they got into is described as dark in colour, possibly an Astra.

"If you have any information at all then please come forward and speak to us."

Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on the new non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
