Driver dies as car and lorry collide in north Shropshire
The driver of a car has died after a collision between an articulated lorry and a car in Shropshire.

The collision happened on the A49 around a mile north of Preston Brockhurst at around 1.10am this morning.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found both vehicles on fire.
“Unfortunately, the driver of the car a man, believed to be in his fifties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The man driving the lorry was uninjured and did not require hospital treatment.”
Fire crews from Wem, Prees, Wellington, Hodnet and two operational officers from Shrewsbury all attended the scene.
Investigation Launched
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances and have issued an appeal for witnesses.
It's believed the black Peugeot 307 being driven by the man was travelling south and the DAF lorry was heading north in the opposite direction.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "The collision happened at 1.09am and a full investigation is being carried out to establish the cause.
"We are appealing to anyone who saw the collision or the circumstances leading up to it to contact Shrewsbury police station by dialling 101. We also want to hear from anyone with relevant information who spotted either vehicle immediately beforehand."
The coroner for Mid and North Shropshire Mr John Ellery has been informed. A post mortem and inquest will be held in due course.
Road Closure
The A49 remains closed this afternoon.
A diversion route is in place via the A41 to Tern Hill and A53 to Shrewsbury and vice versa. Drivers are being warned to expect major delays, and all efforts are being made to reopen the road as soon as possible.
