Shropshire firefighters tackle severe fire at Tern Hill
Firefighters from across Shropshire have this morning tackled a severe fire involving a property at Tern Hill near Market Drayton.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property at just before 5.30am. The ground floor, first floor and roof were well alight during the height of the fire.
Firefighters from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Prees, Whitchurch, Tweedale, Shrewsbury and Oswestry all attended the scene.
They used 2 main jets, 1 hose reel jets and light portable pump including the aerial ladder platform to put out the blaze.
Busy December for Fire Service
This latest fire adds to what has been a busy month for staff at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Permanently on call at the county’s 23 fire stations, they have dealt with around 200 calls since the beginning of December, reported Deputy Chief Fire Officer John Redmond.
“All of these incidents have caused a significant loss to the occupiers and owners of properties within our local communities and in some cases it has resulted in people needing to be re-housed,” said Mr Redmond.
Businesses had lost income because they were unable to operate due to damage from fire, he said.
He also urged everyone to pay particular attention to cooking safely and the safe use of candles which were “an all too common” cause of fires in homes.
