Car park closed as River Severn levels rise in Shrewsbury
The short-stay section of Frankwell car park is expected to close from about 7am this morning due to low level flood barriers being installed by the Environment Agency.
Some other parts of Frankwell car park may also be affected by flooding today, and drivers are asked to take care if using the car park during the day.
Low-lying roads including Gravel Hill, Sydney Avenue and parts of Atcham which are usually affected by flooding are also expected to be closed today.
Recent heavy rainfall in the Welsh mountains have caused river levels to rise. The Environment Agency yesterday said the increased levels were normal for this time of year.
